Eco contemporary interior architecture that mimics surrounding landscape features like the undulating hills of Kidepo in Northern Uganda and enhances the fabricated design elements.
Adere to mean calabash — in Ateso a North Eastern Nilotic language of Uganda— is a staple household item in the region and key feature in this design of the eponymous safari lodge.
Inspiration from the gourd’s sinuous silhouette formulates a restful setting reminiscent of the magnificent Kidepo terrain metaphorically and physiologically. Highlighted with locally handcrafted natural decor, lighting and furnishings, the emerging interior ecology allows for moments of reflection and rootedness in Northern Ugandan culture.
