Held at Studio Isabella Isabeau in May 2017 this event collected artists, makers, artisans and the attending public in one space. The idea for this kind of event was originally conceived out of frustration with the limited forms of exhibition particularly in a growing fashion industry in Kampala. It presented an interactive way of experiencing the arts — fashion, art, music and cuisine in an intimate setting, the founding artist’s studio. Having shown collections at a few fashion exhibitions regionally, the founding artist became aware of the gap in engagement with the public particularly potential patrons and because of this Fashitecture was conceived. The event highlighted the design studio’s multiskilled practice with the inclusion of interactive modeling, a local cellist, live portraiture, sculpture and international cuisine.
